sorting hell
somehow it always comes back to sorting hell for me...
GENUINELY why do i do this to myself anyway im about to yap about my various databases and systems so buckle the fuck up everyone
it all started last year when i was doing so much reading that i was unable to keep track of all of the books + fics + short stories everything that i was reading and i was like HEY THIS IS UNCALLED FOR so. i made sort of a reading log on my nekoweb!
but that was so tedious and i couldnt search or filter and i had to add up all the word counts by myself which was SORTING HELL so i made a second one
which was really great like i still use it. but the tagging system was outdated and so i couldnt find what i wanted to find so i had to make a WHOLE NEW TAGGING SYSTEM that filters by rating, genre, character, relationship, setting, and trope. im so proud but also its EXHAUSTING because now i've got to tag everything from my digital media to my physical media . and i have like 300+ of those things...YIKES its yikes
i remembered the original reason i wanted to do this (because i wanted to see how many words ive read IN TOTAL this year) so finally i sucked it up and made a google spreadsheet even though i hate google
i mean it wasnt ...that...bad...its actually very pretty i got to customize the colors and its much easier than CODING so. shrug emoji its still not done but im liking it so far...sighs heavily
ANYWAY my current wordcount is around eight million words read so far this year?? i got that dog in me im going to try to get to like 20 million or something and now ive got a google doc to add it all up for me !! hee he eheere h3heehaaeh gadsgasgdjdasdasgafsh
